Nails #28 – Sinful Color Rise & Shine & Nail Junkie

Hi guys! In today’s post I’m sharing a polish with you that I once hated but I’m trying to love it again..the reason I hated it was it was tuff to remove and it left bad color staining.

I used Sinful Colors Rise & Shine as a base color. This color is so pretty because it has a greenish-teal hue..mix of my favorite colors. It applies really well but it happens to chip a bit with me..and when removing it it stains except this time with a good base coat it didn’t! I’m happy.

I didn’t want to leave them plain so I grabbed a glitter overcoat that I don’t remember ever using. It’s Sinful Colors Nail Junkie, It has a teal tint but the glitter are fine and multicolored.

Another Hobby.

Hi guys! I’ve mentioned in past posts about how I’m into making wreaths and one day hope to make it a business, I thought I would finally share a few with you! 

I got into making wreaths a year or so ago..I think I saw some on pinterest and just went crazy. It does take a lot of practice & time to make one, thank goodness I was gifted with patience.

1. Burlap Wreaths. I struggled with this type the most. Trying to figure out how to get the burlap through each gape in a wire wreath was tricky. I made one where I folded the burlap in half, then pulled it through each gape. It worked but you want to make sure they are even or it will look a little funky. I normally just pull the burlap straight through the gapes though without folding. I could do a more in depth tutorial later on if anyone was interested. To do the gold burlap around it, I just pinched in the middle and tied it with twine around the crossbars on the wire wreath. 
2. Deco Mesh Wreaths. These ones are pretty easy except when adding accents and stuff. You get a work wreath, some already have twists on them or you add pipe cleaners yourself. I normally just do it myself. Then you tie the end of the mesh down in a twist. To make the poofs, you form a poof and then tie it down in the next twist…and so on until you get all the way around. Then you go around the outside then tie it off when done. Adding ribbon is east, you just add them in each twist. For some I’ve added ornaments and I just glue them with hot glue. For adding signs, at the moment I use fishing line.

 

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I love to do! To me, it’s relaxing as well but sometimes I can get angry if it doesn’t want to work right, haha.

Nails #27 – Endless Blue

Hey guys! This is just going to be another quick nail post..just to show how pretty this color is alone.

I used Sinful Colors Endless Blue..I forget how much I love this color and I should use it more often. The only flaws I have with this color is that it leaves a blue tint to your nails when taking it off even with a base coat..and the flaw is that it seems to smell more stronger than other polishes. Not sure why, but I still love it.

Happy Thanksgiving & update!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all that celebrate it! I spent the day with my family, aunt & cousins. I also tackled making 2 pies from scratch or I should say almost all from scratch. They were a hit even though it’s the first time I made them.

Anyhow onto the update..

I’ve got a few more nail art posts coming your way this week & next. I might also throw in a few others. I’m trying to post about different things and not so much nails all the time. Like I mentioned in an update post prior to this I’m leaning away from makeup lately. Today was the first time I put makeup on in months! Whoo. I’m going to be doing a book review soon on the book I’m currently reading, almost done. I’m going to also try and share some christmas diys and maybe a few recipes I find and make. Lately, I’ve been trying to get into more baking things for the holidays.

So I think that’s all for now..just really wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving!

Nails #26 – Essie Cascade Cool

Hi guys! Just sharing another quick mani that I wore. This is going to be a real quick and easy post.

I wanted to use one of my Essie polishes because I haven’t touched them for a little while. I grabbed a pretty middle pink..this one is Cascade Cool. It’s just a pretty girly pink. I applied it to all my nails and that’s all. I didn’t want to add any nail art or glitter.

Nail Polish Declutter

Hi guys! I finally got around to going through all of my nail polish collection..mind you I have over 200 so I regretted doing it. I found quite a few that I don’t use anymore and a bunch that were just plain no good…I did learn from going through all my polish that I have a ton of colors that are the same! I definitely need to stick to that no-buy again. P.S. polishes are in the same order as they as listed in the pictures! 

The first brand I’m going to start with is ‘Studio M’..this brand is only sold at Meijer stores that I know of..Michigan based. When I was younger this was the brand I used the most but now I don’t use them. They also go old very quickly if they aren’t used regularly..they get goopy and just discolored. The ones I throwing away are: Frenzy, Wicker Park, Power Pack, Fast Austin, Hydrangea Kiss, Perfectly Pink, Power Pink, Whose That Girl, and Blue-Ming. The quality is good for the price you pay, they are $2.99 here. There were a few that I used that has difficulty drying bu I don’t remember which ones.

Next is the beloved brand ‘Sally Hansen’, I’ve bought this brand off and on for years but the colors I’m getting rid of I don’t use much or I also have almost the same color in another brand..why have 2 or 3? no point. The names are Tan Lime, Pink Punk, Total Flirt, and Coral Reef. I love their polishes just no need for these!

I also found a few more that were each from different brands. One is Wet n Wild’s French White Creme, I just bought a new one because this one is gone! Love this white! Next is Pure Ice Outrageous, I’ve had this color for years, so it’s time to go. Finger Paints Fall of Surprises, I got this one from somebody and it ended up drying up fairly quickly. Sally Hansen Triple Shine Dive In, I love this color but I noticed it’s been discoloring. I only used a few times but it’s no good. Last one is China Glaze Purple Panic, this one is empty & dried up but I just recently bought a new one..I love how China Glaze polishes dry so quickly.

I did find a few clear coats that I thought I’d share. First is Nutra-Nail’s Speed Dry & Strengthener  this one has been used and dried up. LA Colors Rapid Dry, I used this a few times and it never dried my polish..so I’m ditching it. Seche Clear, I love this base coat but it’s empty. The one flaw I have about it, is that you can never use it all because the brush doesn’t reach so there’s waste. Unless, I keep it until I buy a new one and pour the rest in. NYC Strip Me Off, I tried to use this once but it was such a goopy mess. The brush doesn’t even apply it well because the bristles are stuck together. I may purchase another just to see how it is..maybe mine was just the bad one of the bunch. Last but not least is Sally Hansen No Chip..as you maybe able to tell..this went yellow. I’ve had it for a while though so it’s understandable.

Sorry for another long post but that’s all the polishes I decluttered! My collection is a little slimmer now..planning on another declutter soon though.

P.S. I was just rummaging through my nail polish trying to find a color and a discovered another bad one! This one is Sinful Colors in Amethyst..I forgot I had this color and now I’m going to have to go but another one. This color is a pretty plum purple that’s nice to wear in the fall. Mine is just dried out. Also, I apologize for the blurry pictures! Not sure what is going on, I’ll figure it out though.

Thanksgiving Pinterest Finds!

Hey guys! Since I shared some Fall ideas that I found on Pinterest I thought why not share some Thanksgiving ones? So I went on the hunt and found a bunch!

Turkey – So I found this pin that has a picture that explains how to cook a turkey, make gravy from the fat and how to carve it! My number one thing is make sure you thaw it for the right amount of hours! 24 hours for every 4-5lbs. Here’s the link.

Thanksgiving Dessert – Who doesn’t like rice krispies? I found a pin that shows you how to make them shaped & look like turkey legs! The one thing I would do that the pin doesn’t, is try to dye the rice krispies brown to look crispy. Here’s the link.

Thanksgiving Decoration – I found this easy & simple looking diy candle holder idea! You take a glass cylinder..place a candle inside..fill the cylinder halfway with popcorn kernels. Last but not least tie a bow with straw. I love this..if you were to do a medium one and two smaller ones, it would look great as a table centerpiece I think! Here’s the link.

Thanksgiving Craft – Have kids coming over and what to keep them occupied while waiting for dinner? I found this pin to make pinecone turkey’s. It looks like all you need is pinecones, craft feathers, google eyes, and felt to make a nose. These are just so simple and cute! Here’s the link.

Nails #25 – Sinful Colors Endless Blue, Tear It Up, Gold Medal, & Twilight Twinkles

Hi guys! I’m back with another nails post! I recently purchased a few polishes from Sinful Colors Luxe Fragments line..and I wanted to use the pretty blue one I bought as an accent to a mani. So here’s how I did.

I began with using Sinful Colors Endless Blue on my thumb & pinky nails. I love this color but rarely use it do to the blue color it leaves when you take it off..but I found a good remover that helps with it. This one also has a little stronger fume than other polishes. Anyway.

Next, I took the Sinful Color Luxe Fragments Tear It Up and applied it to my index and middle nails. I did apply 3 coats of this color just to make it more opaque..like I said in the post I did about the line, they have a gel like texture.

Lastly to add another accent, I used Sinful Colors Gold Medal and Sinful Colors Twilight Twinkles on my ring nails. It tied this mani all together!

A life post.

Hey guys. I’ve had a lot going on in my personal life lately and I thought I would jump on here to vent a little and just share my story.

Some of you may know I graduated from high school at 15. It’s been 3 years and I still haven’t done any much for my future. I’m undecided but I have an idea of what I would like to do. I’m 18 now and so I can finally work towards my ideas/dreams. The problem is support and pressure. Getting a job will be difficult for me. I can’t bend or twist..and I have a weight restriction do to having scoliosis and rods in my spine. College is something I’ve always dreamed about but I have my doubts. I’m not sure what I would want to go for. One thing I have gained a passion for is making wreaths. I’ve been making them off and on for a few months or so. My new dream I believe is to make a work at home business one..think that sounds right. I want to make selling wreaths my job. It’s something I can do physically and something I enjoy. I’ve always had a niche for crafting.

Like I mentioned above support and pressure is my problem with going forward. My parents 100% agree with me and just tell me to take my time and not too rush. Time goes fast enough to began with. My whole dad’s side of the family doesn’t support my idea or dream. They think I need to get my butt up and go get a ‘real’ job. They put a lot pressure and put me down a lot. I don’t want to over do my back..because the last thing I want is a ton of pain everyday. I can only do what I am capable right? that’s what I think. I just want to work at pursuing my dream..but without support, especially from family it’s difficult.

I’m not going to let it get me down anymore though. I’m going to pursue it. One day I’ll prove them wrong..that you don’t have to go get a ‘real’ job because owning your own business is a real job. And if it doesn’t work out, I’ll plan a backup plan but I’m going to shoot for the stars.

Never let anyone get you down..if your shooting for something go for it! There’s no reason to let someone tell you, you can’t. Believe in yourself, you know what you can do and what your capable of.

I just needed to vent and while doing so I hope I uplifted some you! Stay positive when doing anything even when times get tough.

Favorite TV Shows!

Hey guys. I’ve been doing a lot of random topic posts lately, mainly because I’m trying to figure out what exactly I want my blog to be about. I’m thinking nails, books, and lifestyle things. Anyway, in today’s post I’m going to share the tv shows that I’ve been addicted to the past month or two.

60 Days In – i actually got hooked on to this show by my boyfriend. it’s about a jail in Indiana that needs re-structured..basically the inmates are starting to take over it. the sheriff ends up bringing in regular people that haven’t done any crimes to go undercover and basically be inmates for two months. 8 people. the show just finished season 2. i wanted both seasons and i don’t think there with be another but maybe in another? not sure.

Little Women LA, Atlanta, Dallas, New York – i’ve been addicted to every spinoff of the little women series. LA & Atlanta just finished seasons but Dallas just started a week ago and i’m hooked! New York hasn’t came out with another yet..i’m hoping they do though. all series is all about different little women living life..there is a lot of drama but sometimes it’s funny. i love all the seasons.

I Love Kellie Pickler – this show just finished it’s second season also! i love watching her..her accent is to die for. her episodes are basically themed, i guess is how i would say it..like a show was about going to Japan? i think, tonight’s episode was about her attending a Chris Kyle memorial event. i just love her..every episode can make you laugh!

Teen Mom – i have watched every single episode & spinoff from this series. i’ve seen the original teen mom, teen mom 2, & 3. also every 16 and pregnant. if you’ve never heard about this show, 4 girls got pregnant at the age of 16 and shared the story about being a teen mom. there’s several different girls..i don’t like all of them but still love watching them all!

The Fosters – i got hooked on this show from scrolling through netflix one night. i’m now on season 2. it’s about these 2 woman who are married to each other and they are foster parents & have adopted the ones they’ve fostered. well, they end up taking in a teen named Callie who just got out of a juvenile home. she ends up sneaking away to get her brother out of the bad home he’s in. they end up getting into a bad situation. anyhow, Callie ends up getting into more trouble as the episodes go on..they leave you hanging every time. i’ve stayed up way too late watching them, haha.

Worst Bakers & Worst Cooks in America – worst cooks in america has several different seasons but worst bakers just finished it’s first season a few weeks ago. in these series they find the worst cooks & bakers and they are coached by professional chefs & bakers..they one by one get eliminated and then the ones left cook/bake for judges..whoever has the best dishes wins $25,000!

Halloween Baking Championship & Holiday Baking Championship- i love these series too! they pick people that are good at baking to be on the show..they end up contending to win money..each week someone gets eliminated until there’s 3 left and then they choose the best one at the end.

Flea Market Flip – this show is about 2 teams going to a flea market with a $500 budget. they have to buy 3 items that fit a category, fix them up and then re-sell them at a flea market. whatever team makes the bigger profit wins $5,000.

Sorry for such a long post but these are my favorite shows currently.
