I’m back! Week 19 & Week 20..#31DC2017Weekly

Hey guys! It’s been a little while since I have posted. I got busy with some other things that had to take my first priority. I recently opened an Etsy shop with my mom (Mother & Daughter) so I’ve been putting a lot of time and work to that. Since I finally have things settled in place for now I thought I would jump on here and catch up.

I’m a few weeks behind on posting for the #31DC2017Weekly challenge but I still tried to do the weekly manicures. The first week I missed was Galaxy week..now I did one a few months ago and it turned out amazing but for this week I just wasn’t focused and tried to go the easy route..not what I had planned but whatcha gonna do?

I started off painting all my nails with Black & Blue by Sally Hansen..it’s a nice multicolor chrome polish in my opinion, sorta galaxy themed. Then I took a cosmetic wedge and attempted stamping various glitters to get a galaxy look. I believe I have all the colors right, I used Nicole by OPI’s Rich in Sprit, Sinful Colors Blueberry Hot Rod, Ice Blue, and Hottie.  It’s okay definitely not what I wanted but it worked.

This last week the prompt was Watermarble. I’ve tried water-marbling before and had a few hits along with misses so this was another good try to get better at it. I started off by painting all my nails with Taupe is Dope by Sinful Colors..I LOVE this color..It’s such a pretty color. It’s between a brown to a brown gray at times.

For the water-marble, I used Sinful Colors YOLO Yellow & Gold Medal..along with Wet n Wild’s French White Creme. For once, I am truly over the moon satisfied with this water-marble manicure! It turned out pretty dang well! Until……I smudged my middle finger, but again whatcha gonna do? At least the water-marble finally turned out good.

What’s your thoughts on these manicures? I’m hoping to stay on track now but if things get busy again, I’ve got to focus on that first.

Week 14: Flowers – #31DC2017Weekly

Hey guys! I’m finally back with another weekly manicure for the #31DC2017Weekly challenge & this is my 200th post. I’m glad that I started this blog & thankful for those who follow me. I have learned so much from different techniques to different polishes to try. Thank you all for following along. Let’s get to the nail art.

This week I used Back to the Fuchsia by Sally Hansen. I’ve been aiming to use the polishes that I rarely grab for, for the rest of this challenge! This pink has shimmers of purple in certain lighting which I like.

For the flowers, I used my Pueen Party Stamping plate..and stamped this lovely rose pattern. I used the white stamping polish that came with the kit too. I’m slowly getting better and I don’t know why I didn’t try stamping sooner! It is so much fun and I totally recommend it.

That’s all for this manicure..chat later!

St Patricks Day Nails!

Hey guys! I planned on getting this post the day before St Patricks day but it just didn’t happen..so here it is sooner than later.

IMG_0908I decided that I wanted most of my nails gold instead of green, so I grabbed Sinful Colors Gold Medal and applied it on my thumb, index, and pinkie nails. This happens to be my favorite and go-to gold polish. It’s not too shiny and not too dull. It always applies and holds well. When I thought I was finished..I wasn’t. I went on and applied Sinful Colors Feeling Lucky? glitter coat over the gold nails. This came out last year but I saw it also this year but I believe the green glitters where light green this year. It has shamrock glitters in it but I didn’t reach for any this time.
My middle nail didn’t turn out actually as pictured in my mind but close enough. For my base color I used Pure Ice’s Free Spirt..this is just a darker green, its applies well also. Next I took Wet n Wild’s Black Creme and swiped a line across my nail to make a belt. Then took Gold Medal brushed it off real good to make a belt buckle. This part was a little sloppy-er than I hoped but I wasn’t going to redo it.

I LOVE the way my ring nail came out..for once something turned out the way I hoped. I started with Wet n Wild’s French White Creme for a base. Next I took all the colors of a rainbow (I’ll list the ones I used below) and swiped a line or so of each until the nail was covered from bottom to top. It’s looks really pretty.

Red – Sinful Colors Folly, Orange – Revlon Sorbet, Yellow – Sinful Colors Pull Over, Green – Pure Ice Free Spirt, Blue – Sally Hansen Pacific Blue, Purple – Sally Hansen Purple Craze

I ended up where this mani a few day after St. Patricks day because I loved the rainbow nail so much. I’m definitely going to try it again in the future but with fewer colors!

Nails #30 – Black & Blue

Hey guys! I just wanted to share a mani with a new polish that I got as a gift. My aunt was so nice to gift me one..I have to say I was a little worried because I own so many and didn’t want a repeat.

Anyhow, it’s Sally Hansen Black & Blue! It is a multi-chrome polish..it has shades of gray, purples, and blues..hint the name!

Here’s what the mani looked like:

It’s so pretty..I so wanted to do some nail art but couldn’t figure out what to do because it looks good alone.

Nail Polish Declutter

Hi guys! I finally got around to going through all of my nail polish collection..mind you I have over 200 so I regretted doing it. I found quite a few that I don’t use anymore and a bunch that were just plain no good…I did learn from going through all my polish that I have a ton of colors that are the same! I definitely need to stick to that no-buy again. P.S. polishes are in the same order as they as listed in the pictures!

The first brand I’m going to start with is ‘Studio M’..this brand is only sold at Meijer stores that I know of..Michigan based. When I was younger this was the brand I used the most but now I don’t use them. They also go old very quickly if they aren’t used regularly..they get goopy and just discolored. The ones I throwing away are: Frenzy, Wicker Park, Power Pack, Fast Austin, Hydrangea Kiss, Perfectly Pink, Power Pink, Whose That Girl, and Blue-Ming. The quality is good for the price you pay, they are $2.99 here. There were a few that I used that has difficulty drying bu I don’t remember which ones.

Next is the beloved brand ‘Sally Hansen’, I’ve bought this brand off and on for years but the colors I’m getting rid of I don’t use much or I also have almost the same color in another brand..why have 2 or 3? no point. The names are Tan Lime, Pink Punk, Total Flirt, and Coral Reef. I love their polishes just no need for these!

I also found a few more that were each from different brands. One is Wet n Wild’s French White Creme, I just bought a new one because this one is gone! Love this white! Next is Pure Ice Outrageous, I’ve had this color for years, so it’s time to go. Finger Paints Fall of Surprises, I got this one from somebody and it ended up drying up fairly quickly. Sally Hansen Triple Shine Dive In, I love this color but I noticed it’s been discoloring. I only used a few times but it’s no good. Last one is China Glaze Purple Panic, this one is empty & dried up but I just recently bought a new one..I love how China Glaze polishes dry so quickly.

I did find a few clear coats that I thought I’d share. First is Nutra-Nail’s Speed Dry & Strengthener  this one has been used and dried up. LA Colors Rapid Dry, I used this a few times and it never dried my polish..so I’m ditching it. Seche Clear, I love this base coat but it’s empty. The one flaw I have about it, is that you can never use it all because the brush doesn’t reach so there’s waste. Unless, I keep it until I buy a new one and pour the rest in. NYC Strip Me Off, I tried to use this once but it was such a goopy mess. The brush doesn’t even apply it well because the bristles are stuck together. I may purchase another just to see how it is..maybe mine was just the bad one of the bunch. Last but not least is Sally Hansen No Chip..as you maybe able to tell..this went yellow. I’ve had it for a while though so it’s understandable.

Sorry for another long post but that’s all the polishes I decluttered! My collection is a little slimmer now..planning on another declutter soon though.

P.S. I was just rummaging through my nail polish trying to find a color and a discovered another bad one! This one is Sinful Colors in Amethyst..I forgot I had this color and now I’m going to have to go but another one. This color is a pretty plum purple that’s nice to wear in the fall. Mine is just dried out. Also, I apologize for the blurry pictures! Not sure what is going on, I’ll figure it out though.

Nails #22

Hi guys! I’m back with another post on a recent mani I wore. This time I broke out an indie polish to use. If your not familiar with Indie polishes…they are handmade by independent businesses..basically a small business.

Colors used:

CandiedApplePolish’s Cripsy Crunchy Leaves – You can find her shop on Etsy! Her polishes are fantastic even though I only own a few. I used this as a base color on all my nails. It’s brown base color with different glitters oranges, pinks, and yellows.

Sally Hansen’s Ruby Do – this was the base color for the owl & the lines on the belly.

Essie’s Muchi, Muchi – this I used as the owl’s belly

Wet N Wild’s French White Creme & Black Creme – for the eyes

Sinful Colors Pull Over & Wet N Wild’s Blazed – I mixed a little of these two to make the nose color right

This mani took a lot of different polishes but I’m glad the owl turned out great! BTW, I did the owl all freehand..no stencil.

Nails #20

This was my first Fall inspired mani/nail look for the year! Can’t believe how fast this year is going!

Colors I used:

Sally Hansen Insta Dri- Slick Slate..I used this as a base coat. This has always been one of my favorites and definitely one for Fall.

Sinful Colors – Kylie Jenner Collection – Karots of Kargo..I applied this as an overcoat to give some bling! This what also made it seem more Fall like to me.

Just a simple manicure that I wanted to share!
