Week 3: Yellow Nails – #31DC2017Weekly

Hey guys! I’ve been busy lately so I haven’t been keeping up on my posts..but I’m back for Week 3’s manicure. I am still a few weeks behind but I getting there. Yellow nails was the prompt..I am also not a huge yellow fan but I was willing to work with it. What turned out great was, I recently discovered a new Sinful Colors collection that had a neon yellow…perfect for this week!

I choose to use Sinful Colors Out In Space..it’s a bright neon yellow BUT make sure you buy the white base that goes with this line or it won’t be neon. I plan to make another post about this collection, stay tuned. Anyhow, I applied it to all my nails.

Coming up with a design/nail art for this week was tricky..I had way too many ideas but then I thought I’m going to give watermarbling a shot. I’ve never had real good luck with watermarbing, so any tips would be great! I used Wet n Wild’s French White Creme & Black Creme. It didn’t turn out as bad as it could have but they weren’t what I wanted. Good enough though! I will get better over time and more practice. I did place striping tape in random order over my nail before watermarbling.

I really liked the manicure though besides the watermarbling, the yellow is so bright!

Week 2 – Orange Nails – #31DCWeekly2017

Hey guys! I’m back for another week of the #31DCWeekly2017 manicure challenge. This week the prompt is orange nails. I don’t typically wear orange too often but I don’t mind it when I do. Let’s go.

Coming up with an idea/theme was a little tricky but I decided to go for leopard print. I started off with Peach Side Babe by Essie, this is such a pretty peachy, orange, coral color.  Essie polishes are not my favorite but I do use them once and a while. I believe I had to do 3 coats to get to my liking.

Next, I used French White Creme by Wet n Wild, I took a dotting tool and made blobs all over. I wanted to add a pop of color and make it unique, so I used Sail La Vie by Sinful Colors…took another dotting and outlined the blobs a little bit to make it leopard print. I love Sail La Vie..I’m going to have to purchase a new bottle soon. It’s a pretty in-between blue..it went perfect with the orange!

What’s your opinion on this manicure? Next is yellow nails..this is going to be harder so stay tuned!

Nails #56 – Sinful Colors Flip Tease

Hey guys! I believe I’m finally caught up with my nail looks as soon as I finish this post. If you noticed my posting schedule was off a bit that it is why. I will probably have already posted this once but I will say it again, I plan on giving the #31DCWeekly manicure challenge a shot. I am a few weeks behind but I will catch up quick. Anyhow, let’s get on with this post.

This mani is complete solid color, no nail art or anything special..so I guess we could consider it a swatch? Sure.

I used the color Flip Tease by Sinful Colors..this is the Kandee Johnson collection. It’s a very pretty mint green! It does have some pink & gold shimmer when you look at it from an angle. It applied great within 2 coats.

The one flaw I find with it..and this has only happened with this color out of all that I have, it a little bit of a green stain on all my nails..not much but just enough to notice. Hopefully it will go away soon!

That’s all for this post.

Another…Nail Polish Haul.

Hey guys! Today’s post..hint the title..is another nail polish haul. Everytime I stopped into Walmart, they stare at me saying buy me, buy me! Of course I can’t resist but I think this may be it for a little while. I want to give more love to the ones I own before buying more. Anyway, let’s get into the polishes I bought. They are all by Sinful Colors..shocker right?

Flip Tease – I believe I’ve mentioned this before but I love mint greens, so I saw this and had to have it. It’s part of the Kandee Johnson collection. When you place it in the light, you see shimmers of pink & gold. Very pretty.

Blueberry Hot Rod – I first seen this on the website and went searching..I didn’t find it until my 2nd trip to Walgreens. I thought it was more of a solid polish with shimmer but it’s mainly a thin blue polish with shimmer, so you have to build it up. It has shimmers of blue & purple. It will be very glittery & bling-y! Also part of KJ collection.

Super Cooper – I have never owned an army or olive green polish before & I don’t know why! This is part of the Stoned Crystal collection. It’s sorta like an army green with glitter flakes to make the crystal effect. I have a post coming up soon about this polish. I’m glad I grabbed it.

Quick Dry – I mentioned in my last polish haul that I messed up and brought the top shine instead of the nail hardener..when I went back they did not have one in. So I grabbed the Quick Dry Top Coat…I have already used this and I LOVE it..so far I haven’t messed up a manicure yet…fingers crossed it stays that way.

That’s all for this post. Have you used any of these polishes I got? How are they?

Week 1 – Red Nails – #31DC2017Weekly

Hey guys! I decided this past week that I’m going to give the #31DCWeekly challenge a shot..I do not know too much about it but there’s weekly mani prompts you can do. I am a few weeks behind but catching up should be no issue for me. I was inspired to try it by a fellow blogger, who writes AlterControlDelight! Thank you so much! So let’s get on with the mani.

Red nails can be a little tricky. I don’t normally lean to reds a lot but I did some thinking and came up with something that’s simple but yet sorta classic.

I used Folly by Sinful Colors on my thumbs, indexes & pinkies. It’s just a simple red, not too dark.

Next I used French White Creme by Wet n Wild, and painted my middle & ring nails. I took my largest dotting tools and made polka-dots using Black Creme by Wet n Wild also.

This manicure is just so classical to me, does it feel the same to you? The next prompt is orange nails..hmm, got to get thinking again!

Nails #53 & #54 – Sinful Colors Stoned Crystal – Desert Reign & Super Cooper

Hi guys! Today’s post I’m sharing swatches of the other two stoned crystal polishes I purchased. There’s 9 in total & the collection is called Desert Divas by Sinful Colors. I just recently posted about Tealing Powers..here’s the link.

Desert Reign – In my opinion, this is a dusty rose shade. Normally, I wouldn’t grab for it but since there were only a few to choose I grabbed it. It’s very pretty though, I think it goes well with Spring. I only applied 2 coats but it was still a little thin but I was okay with it, some may do 3. There are glitter flakes throughout that give the crystal effect. Overall, it’s not too bad! In the bottle, it does looked darker and more of a purple shade but it’s more pink.

Super Cooper – I do not own any olive, sage, or army green colors and recently I’ve thinking about picking one up..then I saw this one. Again, I only applied 2 coats but could have gone for 3. Overall, I love it. It may just be a favorite now. I keep thinking that Super Cooper & Desert Reign would pair so good together in a rose themed manicure..maybe I will try it!

I don’t think I’m going to grab any other colors from this collection, not that I do not like it, I’m just satisfied with the ones I have now…maybe I’ll grab a Super Cooper back-up but I’ve never really used a whole bottle up.

Anyway, what’s your thoughts? Have you grabbed any from this collection?

Easter Nails!

Hello all! I hope you had a Happy Easter! I just stuck at home with family and really enjoyed it. I also did a little Easter manicure nothing too crazy but very spring like.

I went with all pastel polishes for this mani. I started off by painting my thumb nails in Mint Chip, index nails in Candy Hearts, middle nails in Lie-Lac, and pinky nails in Strawberry Milk. I will get to my ring nails in a minute. Next, I took some striping tape and divided the nails in half diagonally. I, then applied another color to the top half..I used Lie-Lac on my thumbs, Mint Chip on my indexes, Strawberry Milk on my middles, and Candy Hearts¬†on my pinkies…man that was tough writing, haha.

For my ring nails, I started off by painting them white using French White Creme. Then I took striping tape and made 4 sections. I applied Mint Chip on the bottom, then Candy Hearts, then Lie-lac, and last Strawberry Milk. Wa-la!

All the pastels were by Sinful Colors..all but Lie-Lac part of the Kandee Johnson collection. I believe this is the last mani for a little while where I will be using them..time to branch off. French White Creme is by Wet n Wild.

What’s your thoughts on this simple Easter manicure?
