Week 16: Geometric – #31DC2017Weekly

Hey guys! We are on week 16 of the #31DCWeekly manicure challenge..halfway through and I have to say I’m glad I choose to do it. I have been having so much fun coming up with ideas and trying things I wouldn’t normally do! It’s opened my eyes a little more. Anyway, this week’s prompt was geometric nails. Since I already did the chevron stamping I choose a little cooler of a pattern. Let’s go.

I started off by using ‘Kommotion’ by Sinful Colors..it was part of the KJC collection a while back. I like this color because it’s a purple with blueish tints. It also a gold shimmer in it which I tried to capture in a photo below.

Next, I pulled out my Pueen Party Lover stamping plate, and choose a pattern that looked geometric to me. It’s got lines & small circles. After a few days of wearing it, I finally discovered what it is of in my opinion, I think it’s palm tree leaves? Possibly. I used the white stamping polish that came with the kit.

I really liked how this manicure looks. The color & stamping work great together! Thoughts?

Nails #43 – Sinful Colors & Pure Ice

Hi guys! I’m back with another mani look. I tried something new, never tried before that I know of.

For my base color, I used Cheshire China by Sinful Colors. It’s from their porcelain matte collection..this one of my favorites. Just a light lavender, perfect for spring..which I hope is coming soon. Next, I wanted to try doing a half moon on the bottom of my nails. I used these stickers that are suppose to help you do a french manicure, I’m not sure where I got them or what brand they are. You could also use hole re-enforcer stickers too. I placed one at the bottom of each nail, trying to get the same amount of nail to show but it didn’t quite work that way. I used It’s All A Bluer from Pure Ice for the half moon. It’s such a pretty purple that gives off a blue shimmer at times.

Overall, I like the design. I did end up nicking my pinky nail and goofed it up 😦

This manicure wasn’t very challenging though due to using the stickers..you could try and do it without the sticker but you wouldn’t get a clean line.

Nails #40 – Sinful Colors Dream On

Hi guys! Today I’m going to share another easy to do mani using a pretty purple polish.

I applied Sinful Colors Dream On on all my nails. I don’t tend to use this polish very often and I’m not sure why. I always lean towards it but then end up doing a different color in the end. It’s almost like a neon..very bright. It would be an awesome summer color.

img_0669I wanted to do some nail art but wanted it to be quick and easy, so I went with dots. I used my 2 most largest dotting tools that I purchased from amazon. For the white, I used Wet n Wild’s French White Creme & Sinful Colors Casablanca. The one issue I tend to have when doing dots, it that there’s always a little bubble in the dot afterwards..if you know how to fix this, please let me know!

One quick tip if you do not have dotting tools, you could easily use the end of a bobby pin and even a toothpick. Anything with a round point would work.

Lastly, I used my Revlon Matte Top Coat to finish it off..but for some reason it left it bumpy…not sure why on that either!

I liked how this mani looked for the most part, like the colors paired well. Downside was the bubble in a few dots and the bumpy-ness.
