Week 5 – Blue Nails – #31DC2017Weekly

Hey guys! I’m back with another #31DC2017Weekly manicure, this week’s prompt was Blue Nails. Yes, I am still a few weeks behind but I’m still having fun coming up with ideas.

This time I decided to try my take on galaxy nails..I didn’t have a cosmetic wedge on hand to sponge it so I did my best with just the brush. I used a ton of polishes so hopefully you don’t get confused.

I started off with using Sinful Colors Deep End as a base color for all my nails but middle & ring nails. For those I used Wet n Wild French White Creme.

Next I used Blueberry Hot Rod by SC, to give a glitter effect on all nails but middle & ring nails. That’s all I did for those nails.

I used Cold Leather, Ice Blue, Blueberry Hot Rod, Deep End (by Sinful Colors), all to make the galaxy look. I just filled in over the white..didn’t really a have pattern really. Lastly, I took Hottie which is a glitter coat with a blue tint and went over both nails.

I think my attempt went really well! Sorry for the picture quality on the first photo.

I loved how it turned out. What’s your thoughts?

Nails #52 – Pinterest Inspired

I know today I would normally post a book review but I’ve been slacking on my reading lately..bummer but I hope to get back at it soon.

Hey guys! Today’s nail post is inspired by a mani I saw on Pinterest. I normally browse through pinterest when I need a boost..and this time it worked. Here’s the link for it and they even give you a rundown of each step..but I will tell you what I did also.

I decided not to do the designs on all my nails just my middle & ring nails. SO, to start I painted my thumb, index, and pinky nails with Sinful Colors Kurtain Kall (part of the Kylie Jenner Collection). This is a pretty blue with gold shimmer..and semi-matte.

Next, I painted my middle & ring nails with Wet n Wild’s French White Creme..this is my go-to white. I took Kurtain Kall and made half a triangle across the top and right side of my middle nail..left side for my ring nail (hope that explains it). Lastly, I took Sinful Colors Gold Medal and made a half triangle on the lower portion each nail..you want the white part that’s showing to look like a whole triangle, make sense? I hope!

I topped my nails with my Revlon Matte Top Coat. This mani was pretty easy and simple to do. What’s your thought?

Nails #49 – Sinful Colors Deep End

Hi guys! I just couldn’t wait any longer to try one of the polishes I recently shared in a haul post..they were all so pretty it was hard to choose which first, haha.

I choose Sinful Color Deep End..in the bottle it looks to be a blue with purple tones (periwinkle) and an aqua shimmer. After I applied it you can totally see the shimmer! It’s so pretty in person. It applied very well..it only need 2 coats but if you apply thicker coats you could probably get away with one.

Every time I looked at my nails, they reminded me of the metallic press on nails that I used to play with in the little girl nail kits. Oh those were the days, haha.

I believe this is part of their permanent collections but I only found it at Walgreens.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Polish Review

Hi guys! Today I thought I would do a review on a gel polish. I don’t really use them a lot because I love painting my nails and don’t wear polish for too long at a time..but I tried.

I wore the polish for a total of 4 days before I got tired of it. It did great for the most part.

When applying it, I didn’t use a base coat because you don’t need one it says. I used the color, Sugar Fix by Sally Hansen Miracle Gel. It’s a very pretty light blue/sky blue. I only ended 2 coats but it was a little thin in a few places.

I let them dry for a good 5ish minutes before applying the next coat then waited 10 minutes..then applied the top coat. I watched a tv show after so they could dry well.

On the first day, I noticed a few bubbles which is probably from my coats being too thick even though I didn’t think they were. I also bumped on index nail and smudged..I thought they were completely dry.

From the second day to the fourth day..nothing happened the manicure stayed the same.

Overall, I would say this is a great gel polish..just make sure you give enough time to dry between coats and then the top coat. I will definitely give it another shot when I have more time to do my nails. I do have a few other colors from the line..Pink Up (pretty pink) & Truffle Shuffle (light chocolate brown).

Have you tried this polishes before, if so what is your opinion?
